Some More Definitions

Emanix (noun, fem.): 1. one who emanates. An originator and creator of things. 2. One who puts out.
(The latter not 100% accurate, at least, not to just anybody, but I couldn't resist the pun!)

Polyamorist (n): one whose life is characterised by a set of complex overlapping calendars and scheduling conflicts and, to a lesser extent, multiple loving relationships. (from bminstrel link)

The latter seems particularly apt for me (apart from a general feeling that the word 'polyamorist' makes something that I feel is an innate part of my identity sound like a career choice - I prefer 'polyamorous person'). Back from a week in Thailand which I left for straight after helping out with Polyday, now recovering from jetlag and looking in despair at a to-do list that stretches on into infinity. Posts will happen though. When I can fit them in between my other scheduling conflicts, that is!

In the meantime, how would you define the meaning of your name or username, if it was up to you?

Vrimj is actually a pet name given to me by my beloved late husband. His reasons are lost to me but if I were to make up a definition I would play on vrije which is a dutch word meaning free as in speech and is sometimes translated as liberated. I would add the M because it is the first letter of my first name :)

Hmmm ... comfy chair was of course nicked from Monty Python when my preferred username wasn't available, but maybe

Comfy Chair: a nice place to be, easier to get into than to get out of

I always loved bminstrel's polyamory definition, although, having seen his impossibly complex calendar, I'm sure it's about to develop sentience.

Well "BMinstrel": I wanted something that reflected the side of me that exists outside of work and conformity. Something artistic... something that had a light-hearted, musing, wandering sort of feel. Minstrel was gone, so I went for Plan B.

My calendar is not only sentient, it has its own LJ. I suspect it posts rude things about me.

theozzardofwiz (n): There is no Spooner.

Red Region = •hellfire: a place of eternal fire envisaged as punishment for the damned

Inferno = •hell: any place of pain and turmoil; "the hell of battle"; "the inferno of the engine room"; "when you're alone Christmas is the pits";
•conflagration: a very intense and uncontrolled fire
•Hell: (Christianity) the abode of Satan and the forces of evil; where sinners suffer eternal punishment; "Hurl'd headlong...To bottomless perdition, there to dwell"- John Milton

I really took the name from a poem however.
The Mid-World – by George William (“A. E.”) Russell

Innocent: having or showing the simplicity or naiveté of an unworldly person; guileless; ingenuous. (Definition #6 via Dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com/))

Loverboy: a male who starts a relationship with a young girl to later trick her into prostitution (Dutch, apparently? WTF? Sole definition via Wiktionary (http://www.wiktionary.org/))

Innocent Loverboy: now genuinely more disturbing that I intended it to be.

"now genuinely more disturbing that I intended it to be."

*grin* I like that!

Mine is simple. I was starting my LJ and needed a name. I keep a notebook full of funny/clever things I read and hear. It was sitting on my desk at the time and caught my eye. The cover is green. Simple as that!

Raben - German for raven -
1) A bird from the Corvidae family. Resembles a crow, but is larger, has a larger beak and different tail shape which is visible whilst in flight. Ravens and Crows are some of the most intelligent birds and the only non-mammal creatures known to use tools.
2)The bringer of magic
3)A girl who is willing to do anything when slightly drunk.
4)The pseudonym that most up-and-coming Goth girls give themselves, trying to fool the world that they are much more mysterious and dark than they really are. These girls use SPF 100 000 000, never go out in the daylight, dye their long hair black, and are addicted to leather and Doc Martins. They listen to EBM and Industrial and are often into BDSM.

fuchs - German for fox -
1)A vulpine. That is, a small, mainly carnivorous mammal with a pointed muzzle and a fuzzy tail. In the dog family, but possessing feline characteristics.
2)A beautiful and attractive woman
3)a smart, sly, cunning person
4)To intoxicate; to stupefy with drink.

Either it's the devouring angel or I eat angels. Or it's an angel merely in the process of eating. That last one is the cutest.

Hypatia42 - Hypatia historically was a mathematician and librarian at Alexandria. I believe she was the only female librarian to work there. Rather than run when the Christians came to cleanse the world of pagan knowledge she stood and defended what she could and died in the fight. 42 is the answer to life the universe and everything.

Put those two things together and you get "standing up for what you believe in even when it is a risk, possibly even to your life, might just be the answer to getting everything you need." Not necessarily everything you want, but when you get what you need and can accept those lessons life is so much better and fulfilling. IMO.
